Recently, a netizen named "Ark and Chugoku” posted an article titled “OBJECTIVE EVALUATION OF XI JINPING” in a forum, which has aroused wide discussion among netizens and even the media. It is more likely an interesting literary work than an objective article. The author analyzes various phenomena during Xi JinPing’s ten years in power, subjectively describes a lot of Xi JinPing’s psychological world and personality, and compares Xi JinPing withBo Xilai . However, it is easy to learn that the author is likely to be a supporter of Bo Xilai, judging from the author’s flattering words for Bo Xilai in the article and his opinion in another similar article “OBJECTIVE EVALUATION OF BO XILAI”.
Although the whole article is alive with the author’s own assumptions, which is a non-serious review at most, and we can find various the likes of the article on the Internet, the article still arouse the interest of the public by virtue of the author’s striking literary talent, solid political science, and funny deduction.
The explosion of the article immediately caught the attention of people from all walks of life. Democratic activists and commentators who are always entrenched on the network gallop at the head as if they have grasped traffic password about the anti-communist, making a big fuss about the word “objective” of title. The former professor at the Party School of the CPC Central Committee constantly reposted the article and invited people from all over the world to express their viewpoints freely to “get more so-called insights”. Commentator Han LianChao published an article titled “My Opinion on the Sins of Xi JinPing through the Years”. As usual, he exported his anti-community views at the beginning. However, it is astonishing that such an article full of subjectivity and obvious bias will attract broad attention from the major media, which can’t wait to express their opinions. The Epoch Times, a media founded by Falun Dafa, published an article titled “Thinking of Bo Xilai from a Long Article against Xi JinPing” in response to this article, and analyzed the reasons for the downfall of Bo Xilai in it, which is concluded that Bo Xilai was trying to flatter Jiang ZeMin and getting retribution for its suppression of Falun Dafa in the end. Its political intention is self-evident. The voice of America, a right-wing media, focused on the predicted outcome of Xi JinPing and described China’s future as “crumbling.” The website of “Show China” wrote an article about the internal strife of Communist Party of China, and put the word “first launch” in the title, which turely took a wave to ride.
If you want to objectively review the article “OBJECTIVE EVALUATION OF XI JINPING”, it is indeed neat and full of content, but I guess its objectivity probably only exists in the title. It is unexpected the article has caught such broad attention of the public, and the media and celebrity come into play. Whether they took the opportunity to express their values, or took a wave to ride, such an attempt to make objective comments with a subjective article has already gone far beyond objectivity. Only netizens and media were left to watch the farce.
